Union Steel has been active in steel construction for over 50 years. Their teams of highly skilled and trained engineers, technicians, artisans and fabricators, operating in purpose built premises covering 17000m2, have the capacity and skills to handle a wide range of Engineering, Fabrication and Construction Projects.


Humble Beginnings 

Union Steel began as Union Engineering Works in 1954, serving industry in general engineering and steel fabrication from a small workshop based in Woodstock, Cape Town. The company diversified and experienced rapid growth in the late 1950's and early 1960's. This necessitated more space and a move to larger premises in Maitland Cape Town was inevitable in 1964. Growth continued and in 1970 the company settled into its present base in Epping Industria.

Today Union Steel enjoys a reputation of total commitment to quality and service and high proficiency in good engineering practice and innovative solutions to complex engineering problems. We service the building, commercial & industrial, mining, marine and civil engineering industries, with engineering, fabrication and construction services. Union Steel offers a dedicated team of professionals and technicians with many years of engineering experience.
