It has grown into an international forwarding group with 113 operational offices in 27 countries around the world. In South Africa, Röhlig & Co was established in 1973.  Grindrod Limited, established in 1910, is a holding company invested in subsidiaries and associates, operating freight, financial and shipping services, both locally and abroad.In May 2000 a new force entered the sphere of logistics in South Africa, when the German based, international freight forwarder, Röhlig & Co, merged with the multifaceted South African based logistics management group, Grindrod Limited to form the powerful new entity of Röhlig-Grindrod.
