About Us The Petroleum, Oil and Gas Corporation of South Africa (Pty) Limited (PetroSA) owns, operates and manages South Africa's commercial assets in the petroleum industry. We deliver oil, gas, and renewable energy sources for a growing world. PetroSA was formed in January 2002 from the merger of three previous entities, i.e. Mossgas (Pty) Limited, Soekor (Pty) Limited, and parts of the Strategic Fuel Fund Association PetroSA vigorously pursues exploration opportunities in South Africa and the African continent. Our company is also a pioneer of cutting-edge GTL technology. PetroSA owns and operates one of the world's largest Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) refinery. GTL technology is recognized throughout the world for producing the ‘cleanest’ fuels, through an environmentally friendly process. PetroSA is building a world-class crude refinery in the Eastern Cape. The project, known as Project Mthombo, will create the biggest refinery in Africa.Core Business  Our company has a reputation for producing high-quality and environmentally-friendly products. PetroSA is also a pioneer of Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology, which is recognized for producing clean fuels. Products and Services: Products - Petrochemicals, crude and local fuels. Some of the commodities produced by PetroSA include leaded & unleaded petrol, kerosene (paraffin), diesel propane, liquids (oxygen / nitrogen), distillates, eco-fuels and alcohols. Local Sales - In South Africa, the bulk of PetroSA's fuel and other fuel-related products are largely supplied to the major South African oil companies. The rest is supplied to oil industry depots in Mossel Bay from where the products are distributed by road and rail in the southern Cape and neighbouring regions of the Western Cape province.The company also sells liquid petroleum gas, propane and small volumes of fuel oil, liquid oxygen and nitrogen and carbon dioxide on the South African market. International Sales - Petrochemical products are exported to markets in Europe, the United States, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and the Asia Pacific. PetroSA has a fully operational office in Rotterdam (PetroSA Europe) and a marketing presence in Houston, Texas The pioneering of world-class innovations like the Gas-to-Liquids technology and the uniqueness of our products has attracted the attention of overseas markets.
