History Founded in 1908, Adams & Adams is a leading South African law firm, characterised by a strong tradition of professionalism, expertise and excellence, fused with a forward-looking vision.  The firm has 57 partners, 140 lawyers and a total staff complement of 466. The start of 2010 saw us employ 19 new candidate attorneys, taking the number of candidate attorneys in the firm to 45.With an enviable and extensive international client base, Adams & Adams operates throughout the world, specialising in Africa, from its offices in Pretoria (Head Office), Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Maputo (Mozambique). Our Organisational Structure  Adams & Adams is organised into the following departments: the Trade Mark Department; the Patent Department; the Commercial, Property and Litigation Department. The Trade Mark and Patent Departments together provide the firm’s intellectual property law services. The Commercial, Property and Litigation Department (CPL) provides legal services in certain specialist areas, including civil litigation in the magistrate’s court as well as the High Court, property law and conveyancing, and certain commercial law matters. Graduate Recruitment Adams & Adams focuses on recruiting CAs who are committed to a successful career in various aspects of law, including (but not limited to) commercial law, property law, civil litigation, trade marks and patents. We go to great lengths to attract the best graduates from leading universities in order to enhance our knowledge base and maintain our excellent service levels.  Every year we employ a number of law graduates to train as candidate attorneys and to complete their articles of clerkship under the supervision of one of our partners. Visits are paid to most of the tertiary institutions within South Africa, throughout the year, to conduct interviews with prospective candidates.
