The Services SETA held their inaugural SME Premier Marketing Awards at Gallagher Estate, Johannesburg, on the 24th of February 2011, where gradzone won a Silver Award in the Small Business Marketing Organisation of the Year category. This competition had over 80 entrants and saw gradzone making it to the finalist round where we were interviewed by a panel of judges made up of successful business leaders. From there gradzone went on to win as a runner up in their category.

The aim of this competition is to recognise and reward companies and individuals in the SME sector who have shown remarkable success in marketing their businesses. gradzone is certainly a marketing success story with humble beginnings as a student run organisation and now it is one of South Africa’s leading graduate career portal. Official partners/sponsors of this initiative are: Marketing Association of South Africa (MASA), Business Coalition of South Africa, European Marketing Association, eNews Channel, Business Report, and MTN Business and e.tv News. With our team of champions, gradzone will certainly enter again and go for gold the second time around.
