Why do you do this job?
I am passionate about constant improvement and thrive in a dynamic environment with likeminded individuals.

What formal training/qualifcation did you receive to be able to do this job?
BComm. Management Sciences Honns. (Logistics)
In House training by Volition

What happens 9-5?
7 Hours of hard work; 1 hour of relaxing in the coffee room.  Very important to mention though is that this is not a 9-5 job…  When you have work you have to do everything in your power to finish it as soon as possible to the best of your ability.  We are not bound to time but rather guided by deliverance.

What's the upside?
Everybody shares a passion for improving the industry they are working in.  I am ALWAYS challenged and no two days are the same.  People here are extremely friendly and supportive.  The best thing about Volition is that you will learn more than you can ever imagine; not just about one industry but across a wide variety of industries.

What personality traits do you think you have that make you good at your job?
I strive towards being an inspiration to those around me.  Not just to my colleagues but also to the clients I work with.  Being honorable and having a positive attitude are my key attributes to this team.

What's the downside?
You will work hard and be challenged  far beyond what you thought to be your own limits.  In the end the time you invest is the trade-off you make.  For me it is worth the time and effort.

Who are your role models or mentors?
My mentor, Steven Montgomery, is a great inspiration and person to look up to at work.  His moral values and work ethic place him miles ahead of other consultants I have met.   Steven, like most of the consultants at Volition are good at what they do because they are well balanced all-round good people.

Why do you do this job?
I do it because everyday brings forth different challenges that are intellectually stimulating.

What formal training/qualifcation did you receive to be able to do this job?
I completed a B-Eng  in Industrial Engineering at the University of Stellenbosch.

What happens 9-5?
Interacting with clients and assisting them in making their businesses better through in-depth analysis and implementation of action plans.

What's the upside?
At Volition you get exposed to many companies within various industries, each with unique challenges.

What personality traits do you think you have that make you good at your job?
A combination between analytical skills and people skills are really valuable in this line of business.

What's the downside?
Quite often the work involves implementing changes, and people are resistant to change which can lead to friction in relationships.

Who are your role models or mentors?
Colleagues that can apply experience without losing perspective of the bigger picture.

Why do you do this job?
I absolutely love it. It is exciting, different, difficult and extremely satisfying. I still look forward to work every day.

What formal training/qualifcation did you receive to be able to do this job?
I have a BEng (Industrial Engineering)

What happens 9-5?
9-5 There is client interaction, where I solve a client’s problems by analysis.  I use Excel for most client deliverables and modeling.

What's the upside?
The job satisfaction, the challenge.  It's refreshing, and we have an excellent office vibe (the majority of us are young people between 21-35’s).  We have flexible hours, great experience and exposure from day one.  There is also a focus on personal development and growth, along with our flat company structure.

What personality traits do you think you have that make you good at your job?
I'm analytical, logical, ambitious, enthusiastic and objective.

What's the downside?
Well, flexible hours can mean late nights or weekends, it's not predictable.

Who are your role models or mentors?
A role model for work and in general would be our previous MD of Volition, Cobus Rossouw.
A mentor I have is one of the Manco (Managerial Committee) members of Volition, who is also an Industrial Engineer.
